A dense and austere monochrome LUT built around mineral tonal structure and relational color response.
WKSJ-00 OSNOVA is the foundation of WERKOSTROJ’s monochrome system.
Rather than reducing color through conventional luminance alone, OSNOVA uses the relationships between RGB channels to construct a more complex grayscale response. Chromatic differences already present in the image are redistributed across the tonal scale, revealing subtle variations in surfaces and materials without adding artificial texture or compromising spatial detail.
Midtones carry most of its weight, moving through graphite, cement, lead and stone-like densities with greater internal separation. Shadows remain deep and structured, while highlights and whites are restrained without becoming flat or washed out.
The result is monochrome that feels opaque, mineral and distinctly photographic. Dense without becoming muddy, austere without losing definition, and materially complex without relying on grain, fade or simulated degradation.
